There are a number of local bird and wildlife groups in the county. SOG aims to have links with these groups, to liaise and help promote them. Several have web sites which can be found on the links page. In this section the aim to is to have a featured group along with updates supplied to SOG for events and news.

After nearly three years of birding Needham Market before and during the working day I realised not only was there good birds to be found, but also other birders interested in seeing them. I started the Gipping Valley Birding group to share my sightings with the others and unite interested birders.

Between autumn of 2006 and early 2010 records of Redstart, Pied Flycatcher and Great White Egret proved the potential of the valley. With 2011 the groups full year in existence the results surpassed my expectations with an incredible years worth of birding.
